After the three Marvel actors recreated the Spider-man pointing meme in real life, fans thought they cracked the Spider-Man butt case, noticing the apparent junk in Maguire’s trunk. Even though Spider-Man: No Way Home released in 2021, Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire kept the hype going into Oscar season. When Uncharted actor Tom Holland appeared on NBC’s Late Night With Seth Meyers, he revealed that one of them wore a “fake a**” for Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Since Holland revealed the info, Maguire and Garfield became the focus of the internet’s suspicion. And when the three actors recreated the Spider-Man pointing meme, fans zoomed in on the original Spider-Man actor, claiming they spotted Tobey Maguire’s fake butt.
In Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man, 2002 marked the first time audiences saw the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man. He fought against Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe), who returned as the several antagonists in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film.
In The Amazing Spider-Man, Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone starred as Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy, working to take down the Lizard (Rhys Ifans) and Electro (Jamie Foxx).
While both previous Spider-Man actors had their spider-suits upgraded in subtle ways, one of them must have had a big improvement. However, Garfield doesn’t think Maguire was the one with the fake butt.
At the red carpet of the 2022 SAG Awards, a reporter caught Garfield and asked him about Tom Holland’s claims of the false Spider-Man butt.
“I have no idea. It’s not me,” Garfield told Entertainment Tonight while interviewed at the red carpet of the 2022 SAG Awards. “So, I have no clue. I don’t know. I assumed everyone’s butts were their butts.”
The reporter noted that eliminating Holland and Garfield meant Tobey Maguire had the fake butt.
“I don’t think it’s Tobey,” he said. “I’ve seen Tobey’s butt. Tobey’s got back.”
Leading up to Spider-Man: No Way Home, Andrew Garfield vehemently denied his appearance in the MCU movie. Now that Garfield has played the most elaborate game of ‘Werewolf’ with the internet, fans probably won’t take his word ever again.
Fans on Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, and all over still say that Spider-Man actor Tobey Maguire had the fake butt.
